Good Afternoon LAPFC Families,
Hot on the heels of our acceptance into the New Girls Development Academy, our club has received acceptance into the Boys Development Academy, starting with the BU12 age group for the 2017/18 Season.
After an in-depth application and review process, US Soccer believes that our club philosophy and commitment to the individual development of players within our club is integral to the development and growth of our sport in this country.
We are now part of an exclusive group of Academy clubs that will develop individual players and help players progress through the Academy programs. As an Academy Club member, our work has the potential to develop players that will become part of our National Team programs. The Academy is a comprehensive program that provides education, resources and support to impact everyday club environments that will develop world-class players.
The US Soccer Development program is committed to the development of players, coaches and referees. They have high expectations for clubs to offer positive environments that are conducive to growth. We are excited to join the Development Academy and look forward to working with the federation as we continue to expand the program and pursue the development of world-class players.
"This is another indicator that the work of our staff and the tireless pursuit of the best opportunities possible for our players is paying off. To be granted the status on the Girls side was a huge boost to our families and I believe the addition of Academy programming for our youngest boys will help pave the way in the future for additional opportunities for players at LA premier FC", said Executive Director Barry Ritson.
Ritson added, "We are now the only club in the San Gabriel Valley to offer both of these programs to our membership. We are proud and privileged to be chosen by US Soccer to bring the best players possible into this environment."
